C. Michele Dorsey, author of
Oh Danny Girl, has been reading mysteries since she discovered
Nancy Drew in the third grade. She has written two other mysteries and is currently working on the next in the
Oh Danny Girl series. Michele’s My Pink Slippers was a finalist in the
St. Martin’s Malice Domestic contest in 2004. She was a runner-up in a writing contest in the
Boston Herald which was judged by
Dennis Lehane. Michele has studied writing under
Hallie Ephron,
Lisa Scottoline,
William Tapply and Caroline Wheatley.
Michele began her professional life as a registered nurse. After exhausting a series of unorthodox nursing positions (Department Store Nurse, Industrial Nurse, Head Nurse at several facilities with disabled children where she climbed trees to dispense medication to kids), Michele went to law school, but only after completing a bachelor’s degree while she worked as a college nurse.
Michele has had her own
law practice in a small coastal town south of Boston, very much like Danny O’Brien’s own town and practice, for twenty-three years. Recently, her daughter Catherine joined the practice, making them the only mother/daughter law firm south of Boston. Michele is an Adjunct Professor of Law at New England School of Law where she has taught since 1986. She has an active
mediation practice and recently bought her local
Curves.
Michele lives in Scituate, Massachusetts with her husband, Steve and their golden retriever, Cheddar. She has three adult children and four grandchildren. In her spare time, Michele sleeps.
